Working Breeds

Lets stop the car chasing, yard digging, all day barking and teach some impulse control while strengthening your bond.

Reactivity

Stop being frustrated, nervous and stressed every time someone knocks on your door, or you take your dog out of your yard.

With personal experience with owning a reactive dog, we can teach you and your dog skills that will give you both more confidence and freedom.

Rescue Dogs

With 2+ years experience working with shelter dogs and owning our own rescue dogs, we understand the unknown factors that come with them. We can help you!

From the day that you bring your new dog home, settling them in, knowing when and how to introduce them to new things. And working on building a strong bond.

Our Story

G'day, I have been helping countless families cultivate a harmonious relationship with their canine mates since 2017.

I specialize in obedience training, problem-solving, and behaviour modification.

As the proud owner of Kelpies since 2011, I have had the opportunity to work on these same techniques with my own dogs.

I also spent 2 years working at an animal shelter which gave me plenty of experience with various other breeds, with various behavioural issues such as anxiety and reactivity.

I am certified in Dog Behaviour & Training and am constantly educating myself on all things dog-related.

5 Fun Facts about Kirsty:

1. I was diagnosed with ADHD in early 2023, as a 33 year old 🤪

2. I’m also a photographer. Yep, I run two businesses 😅

3. I have a tattoo on each of my forearms. One is the Japanese word “Ikigai”, which loosely translates to a reason for being or life's passion. And on the other arm is my Ikigai 🥰

4. I’m a massive fan of McLeod's Daughters! This show is the reason for my obsession with Kelpies 😬

5. I’m a massive introvert. I’m generally a fairly quiet and calm person. Unless I’m around dogs. It's the only time you will see me throw a party 😂

Kim, Maffra

“Kirsty has a kind, calm method of training ( for both human and fur baby). Kirsty is open to listening and implementing training techniques that suited our family and circumstances. We went from a timid Labrador who wouldn’t come near the front gate when someone arrives to a Labrador who happily greeted Kirsty waiting for pats and a treat. Kirsty is your answer for your smallest and biggest concerns for your fur baby, give her a call or email and she will happily help you out. Opie now has excellent foundations for us to assist him in learning and we are so thankful for the time Kirsty put into assisting us.”

Booma, Glenmaggie

“My 14 month old Kelpie was starting to develop very headstrong antics, and I was getting worried about his jumping and not walking obediently off lead. He was also treating my older dog too roughly. Kirsty has done two sessions with him so far and his behavior has really improved. She’s given me some easy strategies to use with him – and I feel like he is listening to me so much better than he was! We are all going to keep working with Kirsty – having a lively dog is great, but only if he knows how to contain it when he needs to! Thanks Kirsty – highly recommend this service“

Dan, Sale

“When I first got my kelpie-collie x at the start of 2015, I went to the best local knowledge on dog training I knew of, Kirsty. Over a few chats with a cuppa and after watching her work with her two, I felt pretty confident to train up my young fella. Within a few months, I had him trained well enough to walk around town without a lead, to trust him with the teenagers at the kids camp we lived and worked at, obey set commands and travel distance in vehicles. He’s doing well. And everyday I’m with him, I’m putting those initial learnings from Kirsty into practice. I can definitely recommend Kirsty’s work with training dogs.”
