I couldn't pick between being a photographer or a dog trainer, so I decided I would do both. With the assistance from my two kelpie crosses, Pepsi & Noisy.
Watching how dogs were trained as I was growing up made me think that there had to be a better way. I was able to put that thought into practice when I got my first dog at 19 years old. Since then I’ve owned dogs who have had their own issues. I’ve had people see how well behaved my dogs are in all situations and ask me how I did it. I base my training on creating a strong bond with your dog and being the leader of my pack. I focus on creating confidence in the owner as well as the dog.
Since studying art in high school I have had a fascination for creating images, realistic images, images that show the beauty that I see. Being a perfectionist though my sketches and paintings just weren't close enough. Until I discovered the camera. After buying my first DSLR at 19 years old I taught myself the technical side and practiced. When I am holding a camera, I'm not thinking about anything except for what I see in front of me and how I can get the viewer of my photographs to feel what I'm feeling at the time.

Kirsty has a kind, calm method of training ( for both human and fur baby). Kirsty is open to listening and implementing training techniques that suited our family and circumstances. We went from a timid Labrador who wouldn't come near the front gate when someone arrives to a Labrador who happily greeted Kirsty waiting for pats and a treat. Kirsty is your answer for your smallest and biggest concerns for your fur baby, give her a call or email and she will happily help you out. Opie now has excellent foundations for us to assist him in learning and we are so thankful for the time Kirsty put into assisting us
Kirsty has worked wonders with my stubborn, boisterous, disobedient young Labrador. Kirsty explained her process slowly, clearly and logically. She listened to my concerns and worked through solutions, while also explaining how dogs learn and why she recommends her approach. Walking and playing with my lab has become enjoyable instead of a struggle! I highly recommend Whispering Peaks.
My 14 month old Kelpie was starting to develop very headstrong antics, and I was getting worried about his jumping and not walking obediently off lead. He was also treating my older dog too roughly. Kirsty has done two sessions with him so far and his behavior has really improved. She’s given me some easy strategies to use with him - and I feel like he is listening to me so much better than he was! We are all going to keep working with Kirsty - having a lively dog is great, but only if he knows how to contain it when he needs to! Thanks Kirsty - highly recommend this service
